Meet Our Counselor
I’m Paige Parker, thrilled to be the School Counselor at Love Elementary! Born and raised in Houston, I’ve spent most of my life here, alongside my son, two step-daughters, and a cherished bonus daughter. Our family enjoys music, exploring Texas, and fishing in Galveston.
My journey in education has spanned roles such as Teacher, English Learner Specialist, Assistant Principal, and more, with a constant focus on student well-being and success. I’m excited to continue this passion at Love Elementary.
As your School Counselor, I offer a comprehensive program aimed at developing students’ life skills, addressing personal concerns, guiding educational and career planning, and supporting our school community. Here’s to a fantastic year of growth and achievement!
Early Act First Knights
EAFK, standing for Early Acts First Knight, is our cherished Virtues Program at school! It’s a daily curriculum designed to instill high moral character and social skills in elementary students, encouraging them to become compassionate, service-minded individuals from a young age. Each month, we spotlight a specific Virtue of the Month, culminating in a celebratory assembly to honor students who exemplify this virtue. In a unique twist, parents of these students are invited secretly to an assembly where a knight in full armor awards their child with a medallion! A beloved tradition for over a decade, generously supported by the Rotary Club of Houston Heights, we’re grateful for their support. This year, we’re focusing on virtues like Responsibility, Good Citizenship, Respect/Courtesy, Caring/Kindness, Confidence, and Integrity.
Friendship Club
Friendship Club is the name I give to my small group sessions, tailored to meet the evolving needs of our students. These sessions may cover a range of important topics such as understanding and handling emotions, building friendships, boosting confidence, seeking assistance, or delving into our virtue of the month, all based on what our students need most at the time. Each Friendship Club series runs for 4 to 6 weeks, with weekly meetings lasting 30 minutes. Once a series concludes, we launch a new one to continuously support our students’ growth.
Invitations to join Friendship Club come with a color-coded permission slip: blue for students in 2nd to 5th grades, and yellow for those in Pre-K to 1st grade, distributed by either myself or their teacher. Once the permission slip is signed, you’re all set to join us in Friendship Club!
